Casa de la Cultura Simón Patiño

Bolivia

The grand former residence of tin baron Simón Patiño is now a museum, displaying his furniture, personal bric-a-brac, musical instruments and fine toys (you’re not allowed to play with them though). Entry is by guided tour only.

The museum is reached via an ornate art-nouveau staircase. Temporary art exhibitions are displayed in the downstairs lobby; admission is free.
