Golden Roof Challenge, Innsbruck

What: Golden Roof Challenge
Where: Innsbruck, Austria
When: 3 June 2011

It may be famous for skiing, but on 3 June, Austria’s mountainous region of Innsbruck is home to a different kind of sport: athletics.

The Golden Roof Challenge sees Olympic, World and European champions compete at pole vault and long jump in front of the city’s most famous landmark, the Golden Roof. A fine setting for an athletic evening.

Once you’ve had your fix of jumping, take the Nordkettenbahnen, a funicular railway, up the mountainside for some spectacular views over the city and beyond (providing the weather is clear). Stop for a hot chocolate and to enjoy the views!
