Cow trekking on the Rhine

What: Cow trekking
Where: Switzerland
When: Anytime

You’ve heard of camel and donkey trekking but we bet you haven’t heard about cow trekking. We hadn’t either until we spotted this unique way of sightseeing the Rhine in Switzerland.

Local cow farmers, Heinz and Doris, run half-day treks from their base near Stein am Rhein. On arrival you’ll be introduced to your cow-for-the-day and after a quick briefing session you’re ready to ride.

Cow treks last about 4 hours, touring the local fields, forests and the Rhine, and there will be a break in the excursion to top up your (and your cow's) energy levels with a snack.
