This tour starts on 18, 19 or 20 Sep 2018 / 6, 7 or 8 Oct 2019. Witness one of the largest festivals in Bhutan, Thimphu Tsechu reflecting rich cultural values and unique ancient traditions still intact and vibrant. Discover hidden Kingdom of Bhutan, a country that earned its nickname ‘Kingdom of Happiness’ and known for living in complete harmony with nature and everyday life of its people nurtured by the mindful Buddhist way of life. Go farther beyond capital city through rugged mountain passes clad in dense forests, beautiful fertile valleys, visit ancient monasteries and Dzongs (fortresses), explore rural Bhutan and taste exotic local cuisine to your heart’s content. Spend a night at a family farmhouse and get insights into life of a Bhutanese farmer in Phobjikha glacial valley at 3000m elevation. In Paro, hike up to the famous Paro Taktsang precariously perched on 800-meter rock cliff and enjoy peaceful moment induced by sacredness of the monastery.
This tour itineraries are flexible which can be customized to suit your interest and needs. Mode of transportation is by Private SUV/Minivan/Bus depending on the size of your group. Day 1 - Arrive Paro International Airport / Thimphu:  Paro Altitude 2,195m. Our guide and driver will meet you at Paro International Airport and drive to Thimphu, capital city of Bhutan.  Distance 55 km, Time 1.5hrs, Thimphu Altitude 2,334m. In Thimphu, check-in to hotel in and enjoy your first taste of Bhutanese cuisine for lunch. Visit Bhutan Postal Museum - a great place for stamp collectors, National Institute of 13 Traditional Arts & Crafts, Buddha Point where 169ft tall bronze statue of Lord Buddha stands overlooking scenic Thimphu valley. L D Day 2 - Full Day in Thimphu / Witness Thimphu Tshechu: Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and main centre of commerce, religion and government in the country. Begin the day by visiting National Memorial Chorten where people from all walks of life comes to pray. Witness largest annual festival in Thimphu reflecting ancient culture and traditions promoting happiness and harmony in the world. B L D Day 3 - Thimphu / Punakha:  Distance 74 km, Time 3hrs, Punakha Altitude 1,200m. Visit Buddha Point on a hilltop overlooking Thimphu valley before driving to Punakha via Dochu La pass at 3,150m. In Punakha, hike to a scenic Buddhist temple through paddy fields and rural houses. Later visit historic Punakha Dzong and appreciate the fine Bhutanese arts and craftsmanship. B L D Day 4 - Punakha / Phobjikha valley: Distance 80km, Time 3hrs, Phobjikha Altitude 3,000m. Drive to Phobjikha, a pristine glacial valley surrounded by splendid natural environment. En route, visit 15th century Chime Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) - a must visit temple for women who are not able to conceive children. In Phobjikha, take a leisure nature walk taking beautiful pictures. Night halt at a family farmhouse and enjoy glimpse of typical life in rural Bhutan. B L D Day 5- Phobjikha / Paro: Distance 188km, Time 6hrs. Drive back to Paro valley. En route, if time permits, visit Simtokha Dzong, the first and oldest fortress in Bhutan built by Zhabdrung in 1631 AD. B L D Day 6 - Hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest):  Taktsang Altitude 3,120m. Hike to the famed Paro Taktsang built in 1692 on the face of a sheer 800m rock cliff. Spend later half of the day visiting auspicious Kyichu Lhakhang built in 659 AD and National Museum of Bhutan showcasing hundreds of ancient Bhutanese artifacts and unique cultural traditions of Bhutan. B L D Day 7 - Departure from Paro International Airport: After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro Int'l Airport for departure. B
