Tiger Nest Monastery also known as Taktshang Gomba hangs on a cliff and stands above a beautiful forest of blue pine and rhododendrons that offers spectacular view of the valley. It takes about 2 hours walk from the parking area that passes through coniferous forest, up a steep path to the view point. Tourists can enter the monastery as per the timings mentioned outside of the monastery. You can be secure about the permits as our guide will have already arranged the standard permit. The timing to enter the monastery is from 8 AM to 1 PM and 2-5 PM daily during October to March and until 6 PM during April to September. You have to deposit your bags and cameras in entrance as the Camera and Photography is strictly prohibited inside the monastery.

OverviewThe Land of Thunder Dragon. The Hidden Shangrila. The Roof of the World. No travel destination on earth is more remote—or more beautiful—than Bhutan. Nestled in the high Himalayas, this tiny kingdom fiercely protects its traditional ways of life, and guards its isolation like no other country (Bhutan had no roads until 1962, and no television until 1999). This is a lovely hike from Kuenselphodrang to Changangkha monastery. The hike will take about 3 to 4 hours. The hike is through pine forest. The hiking trail was made as a mountain biking trail but its a good trail to go hiking. This trail is doable through out the year. During winter it could be little chilly where ever there is shade so you should carry some light weight warm clothes. This trail is part of the 60th birth anniversary celebration of the fourth king of Bhutan.
