This impressive stone-and-wood building is the first choice for most travellers. The rooms are large and stylish (corner rooms are the best), and the good restaurant has a warming bukhari (wood stove) and floor-to-ceiling bay windows that offer great valley views. Wi-fi and a hot-stone bath are planned. The name refers to the 'Pure Land' paradise of the Buddha Amithaba.
Try a 'dragon warmer', the house cocktail of warm rum, apple juice and Bumthang honey.
