A half mile from the Lodge at Chaa Creek, the Macal River Camp at Chaa Creek offers rustic screened-in wooden cabins on stilts with comfy cots inside and a shady veranda. The place is not landscaped, but rather inhabits the jungle without disturbing the environs. All cabins share clean bathrooms and hot showers. Rates include breakfast and dinner.
To reach the Camp at Chaa Creek, you'll have to park in the designated area and hike in through the jungle for about half a mile. Rates include canoeing, guided bird walks, and visits to the onsite rainforest medicine trail, natural history center and butterfly farm.
