If you like Russian food, you’ll feel right at home in Belarus, and you’ll find plenty of Ukrainian, Georgian and Central Asian food as well. The national dish, draniki (potato pancakes), is ubiquitous. Other local specialities worth trying include tseppeliny (fat potato dumplings, also claimed by Lithuania) and machanka (pork stew with pancakes). In cosmopolitan cities like Minsk and Brest international cuisine is well represented, including Italian, Japanese and even Indian.
