North Point

Surfing in North Barbados

Drive in past the ruins of a once-grand resort to find one of the best surf breaks on the north side. The eerie shells of buildings on the clifftop add to the epic end-of-the-world atmosphere. It's a complicated wave – not for beginners.

The area is also known for its sharks (rumor has it that local chicken farmers throw their dead birds off the cliffs here), and many dive operators make trips up this way to see various species in a challenging swim-through.

The road in is full of crater-sized potholes – go slow, especially if you're in a rental.
