Hi all - I'm landing at Dhaka airport, international terminal, at 9am tomorrow, and need to get a domestic flight at either the US-Bangla 11.30am flight or Novo at 15.00 to Cox's. Is the 11.30am flight too tight a window? I need to pick up a sim, get through immigration, etc, then get to the next terminal to check in. Just wondering what Bangla travel pros recommend - thanks!
In November I will travel through Bangladesh. I will make the route from Dhaka to Hularhat by ship, and then I will go to Khulna.
Between Hularhat and Khulna I want to visit Bagerhat and then continue on the road. My question is: in Bagerhat, can I leave my backpacks somewhere? Is there any luggage room or something similar?
Should I have to stay to sleep, does anyone know any cheap hotel?
Hi all. In need of some VOA advice. Previously I’ve been to BGD with work and shown a hotel booking covering my entire stay at Dhaka airport for the VOA. I loved Bangladesh and now I want to go back and travel properly around the country for 1 month- but in order to get a VOA, do I need to show hotel bookings for every single night of my stay? I ask because last time I passed through dhaka, there was an American tourist who had no hotel booking reference and they gave her only a 3 day visa.
I will have only eight days to spend in Bangladesh in August after a business trip to India, and am having trouble (a) choosing what to visit and (b) knowing how realistic I'm being in terms of journey times and distances.
I'll cross by land on a bus from Kolkata (so that I can get a VOA), and thought I might stay the first night in Jessore.
I'll fly out of Dhaka and would like a day there to see some sights.
Between those two places, I'm interested in a river trip (such as the Rocket…
Hello to those traveling in Bangladesh,
Just to update some of you that it's very difficult to get a permit to CHT these days. I would recommend doing it through a tour company (guide tours charges 1000BDT). Also many areas at this time are forbidden for foreigners namely: Keokradong and Lake Boga. Apparently Lake Boga can be visited but you cannot stay there so you must make it a long day journey from Bandarban. Keokradong is completely forbidden.
In other news, I just arrived at Sreemangal…
Hi there, i know - this topic was discussed here before. Yet the most posts are a bis old. So i would be really glad, if someone can tell me, if it still possible to overstay up to 15 day by paying 200 Tk. for each day?
I'm right now here with an N-Visa, which expires 8 days before my flight is going. Another extension is not an option, also because my internship will end one month before I'm leaving. So i would be glad for any answer :)

Hi there - I'm looking for a guide book on Bangladesh and it would appear the pickings are slim indeed. Bradt has one from 2012, and Lonely Planet's most recent book was published 2016. I suppose the LP one would be more useful because it's newer, but I'm not always a big fan of the LP books (and love Bradt). Has anyone used either/both of these books and does anyone have an opinion on them?
(I see the Culture Smart series has one as well, but it's not really a guide book per se).
