Coastline & Mountains
Tiny Montenegro crams an awful lot into a small space, including sandy beaches, jagged mountain peaks and dramatic gorges. The cherry on top is the Bay of Kotor, where rugged mountains rise dramatically from the sea.
Seaside Kotor is one of the country's most extraordinary sights. Nearby Perast is a vision from distant Venice, while Cetinje – high up in the mountains – is the heart of Old Montenegro. Ulcinj's Old Town gazes out to sea from ancient walls.
Hikers gravitate to Montenegro’s impressive national parks while rafters paddle their way through the sheer walls of the Tara Canyon and kayakers traverse the Bay of Kotor.
