Getting There & Away
Lahıc is 20km off the main Baku–İsmayıllı road. Transport departures leave from the little bridge that divides the tourist stretch of Hüseynov küç from the less developed area called Ərəgit, near the school.
Baku Most days a direct minibus leaves at 8am (AZN8, four hours) but you’d be wise to ask your hosts to contact the driver to confirm departure and reserve a seat. Otherwise change in İsmayıllı or try flagging down a passing vehicle on the main Baku–İsmayıllı road at the Səhih-M/M Petrol Station.
İsmayıllı Minibuses (AZN1.50, 1½ hours) depart at 7am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm from a small new bus station on the Baku Hwy at the northeast edge of town (where the castle wall starts). They return from Lahıc at 8.30am, 11am, 1pm and 4pm (AZN1.50, 1½ hours). For photo stops consider paying a taxi one way (around AZN15).
Şəki/Qəbələ A direct informal taxi to Şəki with photo stops and a side trip to Old Qəbələ costs around AZN70. To Shamakha via Demirchi it's around AZN50. Ask your hosts to help arrange this.
Gurbangah for Mt Babadağ A chartered 4WD will cost between AZN80 and AZN100 one way, around AZN140 return assuming you return within 24 hours. This is only really practicable in July and August. You might also be able to hitch a ride with a pilgrim truck on Friday or Saturday nights with a suitable moon.
