Hi everyone!

I am looking to see if I am eligible to acquire Austrian citizenship, as my partner lives in the EU and I would like to be with him after many years apart!
I am from Australia, born here, to a Kiwi father and an Australian mother. My opa, my father's father, was Austrian.
My grandparents were married at the time of my father's birth, making my father an Austrian citizen by descent. However, he is a New Zealand citizen and not an Australian or Austrian citizen, and he and my mother…

Better stay away from Heiligenblut. I had bad experiences there. When I came back to my car from climbing in that area, someone attacked me. First he let the dog on me. When I wanted to escape, he did not let me go. He was standing in front of my car when I wanted to drive away. Then he opened the door and tried to pull me out. I almost managed to escape from him. It was a terrible experience. God knows what he wanted to do to me!

You are better, going somewhere else. There are many other…

Looks like I'm moving to Vienna for 2-3 years. Can you recommend a safe and good neighborhood where it's possible to find an apartment with a good view? It doesn't have to be super central (I love hiking and biking) as long as there is good public transport.

Also, which places/websites do Austrians go to to buy apartments? Are there any laws against foreigners buying properties in Austria?

Hi All,

I am planning for a vacation in Austria from 1st July to 10th July. I fly in and out of Salzburg since my main interest lies in the Salzkammergutt region. I am not much interested in cities and would mainly like to see the natural beauty and mountains around the region. Can you please suggest a itinerary for 10 days around this region. If 10 days is a lot, please suggest additional places that I can cover along with Salzkammergutt within Austria or nearby countries like Switzerland. Is…

7.21-7.31

I'm on a summer study abroad program in the U.K. with my university. I'll be flying to Vienna by the end of the program from London on 7.21. I'll probably be staying at a small hotel in city center. Looking for someone to explore the city/possible hiking/swimming spots around Vienna.

I'm gonna spend two weeks in Austria in April next year, and the plan is to visit Vienna, Innsbruck, Hallstatt and Salzburg (sounds good for a first time visitor?). I'd also like to do some hiking. Considering my itinerary, where would it be most convenient?
