Don't for a moment think that the Twelve Apostles are the end point of the Great Ocean Road, particularly given there's a whole string of iconic rock stacks on the road heading westward of Port Campbell. Some are arguably more scenic than the apostles themselves.
The drive continues through acres and acres of farming land here, passing through some laid-back towns. Timboon, about 16km inland from Peterborough, is best known for being surrounded by a number of wonderful places to sample local produce on the 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail. Here you'll be able to sample single-malt whiskeys, local homemade ice cream and chocolate, and fine wine and cheese.
