Welcome to Mornington Peninsula & Phillip Island
More a playground for locals than a lure for foreign travellers, Mornington Peninsula is a string of holiday communities that curls around Port Phillip Bay’s eastern half. At the tip of the peninsula, a world of rugged ocean surf beaches, sublime links golf courses and coastal bushwalks opens up. Away from the coast, the peninsula’s interior is a wine- and food-lover’s paradise, with more than 50 cellar doors and some of Victoria’s finest winery restaurants. Away to the east, it’s a short ferry ride to wild and isolated French Island and to Phillip Island, one of Victoria's premier attractions. Apart from the famous nightly parade of little penguins, Phillip Island is blessed with wonderful surf beaches, accessible wildlife and enough activities to keep you (and the kids) busy for a week.
