You can stay on one trip with the same group and travel in the minimum time for a tour-type experience (itinerary below) or spend longer by getting on and off the bus/train at different places. All transport over your set pass route, whether in your local operators own buses, public buses, trains or boats – is included in one direction, once. There is much to explore on the island, as nearly 50% of it is National Park with amazing beaches and abundant wildlife.Travel Day: Magnetic Island – Airlie Beach In the morning your guide will join you on the Forts walk, otherwise you can do some exploring, check out the local wildlife park or just relax by the pool. In the afternoon we travel back to the mainland on the ferry, then jump on the train to Proserpine, with a transfer to Airlie Beach arriving approx. 7pm. Note: Depending on which day you depart, you may have a free day to spend on Magnetic Island.Free Day in Airlie BeachHave a full day in Airlie Beach for activities or to relax. There are great Whitsunday Islands options for any timeframe.Travel Days: Airlie Beach – Emu ParkIn the early evening, transfer to the train and travel overnight to the cool coastal town of Emu Park. We spend 2 nights here giving you time to visit Great Keppel Island, take part in the Stray Treasure Island adventure, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef and keep a look out for turtles at Bluff Point! Travel Day: Emu Park - Rainbow Beach Travel to Rainbow Beach via train and bus. Rainbow Beach is a departure point for Fraser Island or walk up to Carlo Sandblow for sunset or sunrise. Travel Day: Rainbow Beach — Byron BayTravel by bus through Noosa and Brisbane, and on to the Danger Point NSW/QLD border crossing for a walk to stretch your legs. Then travel on to Australia’s coolest surf town, Byron Bay.
