Of Kosciuszko National Park's villages, Thredbo offers the most all-season activities: skiing in winter (mid-June to August/September), and mountain biking and hiking at other times of year.

Long, cruisey runs, some fairly steep terrain and snow-making to pad out the unreliable Australian winters: Thredbo is among the country's most compelling winter-sport resorts.

More than two-thirds of the skiing terrain is intermediate level, with a few beginner and advanced runs; snow parks are easy zones for new skiers. Thredbo has the longest ski runs in Australia: High Noon-Cruiser and Village Trail (each 5km). Views from trails are expansive, particularly from above the Basin, Australia's highest lifted point (2037m).
