Bungle Bungle Scenic Flight and Southern Gorges Walking Tour

Experience Purnululu by air and then by ground to appreciate the vast, rugged beauty of this World Heritage-Listed National Park. Your scenic flight will take you over Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungle Range where you will land. Your flight will be met by a guide who will take you by 4WD to the Bungle Bungle Range. You will then embark on a moderate 3km walk which takes in Piccaninny Creek, the beehive shaped sandstone domes and Cathedral Gorge. You are provided with a small cooler bag to carry your tasty picnic lunch in the shade of the gorge. You can add an optional 30 minute helicopter ride to this tour at additional costs. Your flight home flies over the fascinating Argyle Diamond Mine where rare pink diamonds are mined.

Good things come to those who bait. If you’re angling to catch a fish during your time at Lake Argyle, join us for a fishing expedition! We guarantee that you’ll catch a fish of some sort and, if not, we’ll give you a 50% refund. Lake Argyle abounds with a huge variety and number of fish. The largest is the massive “Silver Cobbler” which can weigh up to 40kg. We target these huge beasts as well as the feisty “Sooty Grunter” and anything else which might come along. Barramundi are increasing in numbers, but are still few and far between.

Lake Argyle Birdwatching Charter

Do you go cuckoo for birds? Then you’ll love our half day bird-watching expedition of Lake Argyle, a designated RAMSAR Wetland due to the large number and variety of birdlife found here. Over 240 species of birds have been recorded on or around the lake including Yellow Chat, Purple Crowned Fairy Wren and the Long Toed Stint. At times, individual flocks of certain species can number in the tens of thousands.Lake Argyle has also gained a reputation as one of the best locations in Australia to observe certain species that are often difficult to find elsewhere. A number of well-known birdwatchers regularly bring their clients to us, knowing that our experience and ability to find sought-after species is second to none. On previous trips, guests have been pleasantly surprised at sighting up to 113 bird species in one day! Lake Argyle Cruises’ owner, Greg, is a keen birdwatcher and he especially enjoys leading these trips.
