Getting There & Away
Tenterfield is somewhat inconveniently tucked away in the High Country near the Queensland border. It's 93km north of Glen Innes, in NSW, and 112km south of Warwick, in Queensland. Gone are the golden days of domestic rail, when Tenterfield was once a significant station on the line.
NSW TrainLink operates a daily bus to/from Armidale ($25, 2½ hours) which connects to the daily Xplorer train between Armidale and Sydney (from $66, eight hours).
New England Coaches operate a service three times a week to Armidale ($60, 2½ hours) and Brisbane ($80, 5½ hours).
Northern Rivers Buslines has three weekly buses to/from Lismore ($6, two hours), with connections to Byron Bay.
Buses depart and arrive from the Tenterfield Community Centre on Manners St.
