Welcome to Koonya, Nubeena & White Beach

About 12km further along is Nubeena (population 490), the largest town on the peninsula, fanned out along the shore of Wedge Bay. It’s much more low-key than Port Arthur – it’s really just an easygoing holiday destination for locals – but if all the other accommodation on the peninsula is booked out (trust us, it happens), you might be able to find a bed here. There's also a supermarket, a tavern and a good cafe.

White Beach (population 290) is yet another snoozy holiday enclave about 6km southwest of Nubeena. There are no shops or services here, but the beach is lovely for a swim (yes, it's white).
