El Estanco

Top choice South American

in Greenock

Run by a charismatic couple – a Columbian and a Brit – El Estanco is one of the best things to happen to the Barossa in recent times. Earthy, authentic, wholesome, value-for-money and ethically attuned, it's a casual eatery in a 70-year-old cottage, serving a mash-up of Latin-influenced fare (sublime pulled-pork tacos) and English edibles (giant slabs of cake). Local wines galore.

The blackboard menu here changes daily, as does the wine list, championing unknown and up-and-coming Barossa producers. The same approach is applied to beer, cider and coffee – all local, all good. Friday-night pizzas are a hit.
