Victor Harbor with McLaren Vale Wine Region Tour from Adelaide
After hotel pickup in Adelaide, leave the city behind and travel by coach through the Mt Lofty Ranges, dotted with small villages and great views. Arrive in the historic town of Strathalbyn after about an hour’s drive. You have free time to explore this quaint town on the Angas River — perhaps sit down for morning tea at one of the local cafes (own expense). Back on the coach, head to Goolwa, an old paddle-steamer town near the mouth of the Murray River, and then pass by Port Elliot on Horsehoe Bay on your way to Victor Harbor. Total driving time from Strathalbyn to Victor Harbor is about one hour. In Victor Harbor, you have approximately two hours of free time to explore the town on your own. Maybe take the horse-drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island, or visit a local restaurant for lunch (all food, drinks and activities are at your own expense). Back on your coach, start the 45-minute drive north to the town of McLaren Vale in the popular Australian wine region of the same name. Stop for 30 minutes in town, where you can visit a cellar door (tasting room) for a wine tasting, if you wish, or check out local attractions like Medlows Confectionary or the Almond Train (own expense). Finish your day trip with the 1-hour drive from McLaren Vale back to Adelaide, passing through the picturesque coastal towns of Christies Beach, Port Noarlunga and Moana.Upgrade Cruise Option During your time in Victor Habor you can choose to include a 45-minute scenic cruise to Seal Island passing through the Horse Tram route and historic Screwplie Jetty. Watch out for New Zealand Fur Seals and Australian Sea Lions at play, basking under the sun or even up close as they swim towards the boat. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife such as Bottlenose Dolphins, Cormorants and Petrels. Coorong National Park Wildlife Cruise from Goolwa Including Lunch
Enjoy a 6.5-hour expedition into the Coroong National Park, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth area aboard a 16 seater passenger vessel with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided. Depart the Goolwa Wharf heading upstream to Clayton, passing through Duck's Hospital while enjoying morning tea. Then pass Lake Alexandrina as you head to the hand operated lock at Tauwitchere Barrage. Stop for lunch at Cattle Point in the beautiful Coorong National Park where you’ll learn some of the Aboriginal Ngarrindjeri history and visit ancient midden sites. Continue towards the Murray Mouth and stop at either Barker's Knoll for a walk through the sand dunes to the spectacular Southern Ocean beach, where you can try digging for cockles (during season) and learn about native bush tucker from your experienced guide. Once back on board, cruise past the Mighty Murray Mouth and arrive at the Goolwa Barrage where you’ll have the opportunity to get up close to New Zealand fur seals before returning to the Goolwa wharf. Victor Harbor and McLaren Vale Day Trip from Adelaide Including Lunch

This tour begins with a picturesque coach ride through the Adelaide Hills to the historical Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn. Here you will stop for some free time and morning tea in High Street (own expense). Continue on to the paddle steamer town of Goolwa where you will have a brief tour of the town including the wharf, barrage and beach. On your way to Victor Harbor cruise past the charming coastal town of Port Elliot including Horseshoe Bay and stop at Whale Lookout for a photo opportunity. Upon arrival at one of South Australia’s most popular seaside villages, enjoy a delicious 3 course carvery lunch at the Hotel Victor. After lunch, you may like to explore Granite Island, where you’ll find the Little Penguins and you might even catch a glimpse of a Southern Right Whale during the winter months. Your tour then continues to the wine making region of McLaren Vale, best known for producing outstanding Shiraz. Wander the main street, sample the fresh local produce including the delicious cheeses at Blessed Cheese, taste some of the fine wines or grab a coffee at one of the many cafés. During your walk, you will have time to enjoy amazing views and morning tea. This section of the trail passes through a valley of huge gum trees and native bush. Continue up to a ridge for spectacular vistas of the ocean.Your lunch will be a picnic on the trail. After breakfast your guide will pick you up by bus for the trip to Balquhidder. Your walk takes in some of the most spectacular views of the coast and country. Walk picturesque farmland, unspoiled sandy beaches, rocky headlands and maybe spot a whale. From the cliffs at Balquhidder you have unspoiled views to the Southern Ocean. You descend from the cliffs to sandy Parsons Beach. Here you can enjoy a stroll along the beach to the headland at the end of Parsons Beach, before walking further to finish your walk at Waitpinga Beach. After lunch in Victor Harbor it’s time for a wildlife and sightseeing tour with the Big Duck Boat Tour (weather-permitting). Departing from near Granite Island the Big Duck Boat Tour heads out to look for sea lions, seals, dolphins, and in the winter months you may see Southern Right Whales. You are back at your accommodation in time to unwind before dinner. Day 3 Waitpinga Beach to Kings Beach - 8-mile (13-kilometer) walk, grade moderate (B, L, D) Your second walk is five hours along the coast. Today you can enjoy the views. Your guide will pick you up after breakfast. Your walk begins at Waitpinga Beach where you can take spectacular photos of the broad sandy beach. You will start your walk through coastal sand dunes and low-lying scrub before a gradual climb to Newland Head Conservation Park. From Newland Head your walk continues to follow the cliffs, giving stunning coastal views until you reach Kings Beach. Lunch will be a picnic on the trail overlooking the cliffs in Newland Head Conservation Park. After lunch there is time to stop by a farm-based gin distillery, where you can sample fine spirits and local produce. You are back at your accommodation in time to rest before dinner. Day 4 Fleurieu Coast to Adelaide (B) After breakfast you are picked up by bus and arrive back in Adelaide by midday.
Full Day Tour of the Fleurieu Peninsula from Adelaide
On this full day Fleurieu Peninsula tour, enjoy stunning views of Adelaide and its surrounds as you depart the city and head to the top of Mt Lofty Summit. You will also have the chance to grab a warm coffee or stretch your legs with a brisk walk. Afterwards, head on to the historic village of Hahndorf were you stop on the outskirts of town at the Beerenberg Family Farm for a chance to taste their amazing range of condiments, jams and sauces. Next, head to the beautiful little town of Strathalbyn, often voted the prettiest town in South Australia you will get the chance to explore the Soldiers Memorial Gardens located in the centre of town on the banks of the Angus River. This is a great spot to enjoy a surprise photo opportunity. Next, head down to the southern coast where you stop for lunch at the port town of Goolwa, the spot where the mighty river Murray meets the sea. Here you will have the chance to enjoy a delicious lunch at Hector's on the Wharf (at own expense) before exploring the riverboat centre and having the chance to step on board the PS W Oscar heritage paddle steamer. After lunch, head off along the coast where you will have a quick stop at Horseshoe Bay in Port Elliott and soak up the views. If you are lucky, at the right time of the year you may get an opportunity to spot some whales. In Victor Harbor you can choose to ride the horse drawn tram across to Granite Island and back or instead choose to explore the Whale Centre and its many interactive displays. If you prefer you can just choose to take a stroll along the white sandy beaches and grab an ice cream or play a round of mini golf. There's so much to offer right in the centre of Victor Harbor. For the last stop of the day you will head up the the famous Mclaren Vale region where you will get to sample some of the best wines from the region or explore the galleries created by local artists. With coffee and cake available it's also a great chance to just sit and relax and take in the amazing views before finally heading back to Adelaide for a comfortable return ride along the Southern Expressway.
