My college student is preparing to leave for a semester in Canberra. Flying from Los Angeles to Sydney or Melbourne. Which is the best airport to fly to and what would be a recommended time to make the connection to Sydney? Australian National will be providing transport to campus from the Canberra Airport #NervousMom :)
We have a friend travelling to Australia on a 462 Work/Holiday Visa for 6 months.
Normally, just Travel Insurance is purchased, but we are wondering about if it is necessary to purchase Travellers Health Insurance And/Or Travel insurance for the stay?
If someone could explain the differences between the two, and what thoughts people had about which insurance is required when travelling to Australia, it would be appreciated greatly.
What have others done in this respect, when staying in…
We will be driving from Carnarvon National Park to Hervey Bay QSLD in late August. Google maps tells me it 11 + hours, but a local at Hervey Bay says it is only 4 hrs taking the back roads. How can there be such a difference in distance and time. Any thoughts on this?
I shall be arriving in Perth on August 18 and leaving from the Gold Coast on September 15. I know my time is short and the land is huge so the best thing to do would probably be to concentrate my time around Perth and the Gold Coast and perhaps a trip to Uluru in between. Any advice on what to see and do and what I should not miss is appreciated. Due to time constraints i believe the best transport options would be internal flights. Please help me draw up an itinerary as I feel somewhat lost…
I'm planning to fly out to Australia in late August for my first year WHV. I'm really keen on avoiding having to live in an expensive city, and love the idea of living and working at an outback resort of some sort.
I haven't booked my flight yet, and it's really hard to choose between Perth, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney and a couple of other places, all of which are within ~£100 of each other for a one way flight.
Do any of these cities have a high concentration of remote…
I am planning a trip in Sep or Oct to Australia. Land in Sydney then fly to Brisbane and stay in the area for 10 or so days and drive back leisurely to Sydney. I'm after a few different snorkeling opportunities - so far, Julian Rocks, Fitzroy Reef, Lady Musgrave Island and Hook Island look ideal. Lady Elliot Island looks great but maybe too expensive. I would like a resort/hotel where we could snorkel right from shore, too. Do you think those sites will provide varied, interesting snorkeling…
I’ve got a query about moving to Australia and I hope someone can help!
I am 29 years old and I returned back from Australia last year having spent two years their on a working holiday visa. I came back to England because of my now ex boyfriend and I regret It so much. Does anyone know if I have any options to go back and live in Australia? I know that’s where I’m meant to be.
Thanks in advance
I am a 27 years old german guy and got funding for the visit of a conference in Sydney in July.
As I don't have the chance to visit Australia frequently, I am planning to extend my visit for 2 weeks of vacation to explore the surrounding of Sydney.
However, the commitment for the funding was late (yesterday) which makes it difficult for me to plan the trip. It would be great if you could help me.
I think I will be able to visit Sydney during the conference. Hence, I can spend…
