Welcome to Burrum Coast National Park
Shifting between a lowland vegetation of stringybark trees, dense mangroves and flat coastal dunes, Burrum Coast National Park feels wonderfully remote. It's a popular spot for knowledgeable campers, birdwatchers, fishers, canoeists and hikers. The park covers two sections of coastline on either side of the little holiday community of Woodgate, 37km east of Childers. The Woodgate section of the park begins at the southern end of the Esplanade, and has attractive beaches and abundant fishing. The more isolated Kinkuna section of the park is thick bush and only for the serious explorer, but it does boast a fine, secluded beach with decent surf.
