Along the road from the Victoria River Roadhouse to Timber Creek there are numerous walking trails that climb up the escarpments. All are signposted along the road, and all have marvellous views of the Victoria River and the escarpments that have led to this area being called East Kimberley. This one, 2km west of the roadhouse, is a good place to start.
Information panels tell stories from the Nungali and Wardaman peoples. The whole walk takes 1½ hours return (3km), but you can stop at the Garrarnawun Lookout and return to the car park (1km return, 45 mins) if you want to avoid the steepest sections.
