After morning pickup at your Darwin hotel, travel by air-conditioned coach about 90 minutes to Corroboree Billabong. Along the way, enjoy live commentary from your expert guide and a stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre, where interactive displays and superb views give you an excellent introduction to the northern coastal wetlands ecosystem. When you arrive at the Corroboree Billabong, hop aboard a roomy open-sided boat with a full-length shade canopy. Your knowledgeable guide points out a huge variety of wildlife throughout the 2.5-hour cruise. You may spot jabiru, ibis, brolga, jacana, egrets, herons, kites, sea eagles, whistling ducks and magpie geese among many other birds in this area, which shelters more than 30 different species. Depending on the time of year and day, the crocs may be swimming in the water or sunning themselves on the banks. At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch to eat on board the boat as you float along in nature with your guide. The lunch consists of prepared salads, plus sliced meats and bread for sandwiches. Cold drinking water is available throughout the cruise. It is recommended that you bring a hat and sun protection, as well as a camera and binoculars.
