Tourist Information

The Nitmiluk Visitor Centre has excellent displays and information on the park's geology, wildlife, the traditional owners (the Jawoyn) and European history. There's also a cafe and a desk for Parks & Wildlife, which has information sheets on a wide range of marked walking tracks that start here and traverse the picturesque country south of the gorge. Registration for overnight walks and camping permits ($3.30 per night) is from 8am to 1pm; canoeing permits are also issued.
