Thredbo Alpine Village

Snow Sports in Kosciuszko National Park

On the southern flanks of Mt Kosciuszko (2228m), Thredbo is known as one of Australia's leading ski resorts, boasting the longest runs and the highest lifted point. Around 67% of the area suits intermediate-level boarders and skiers, but there's beginner and expert-level terrain too.

Thredbo is the only ski resort in Australia that even remotely resembles a year-round village, transforming into a mountain-bike hub in summer. Attendance is significantly aided by a smattering of festivals, from blues to bike races.

It's also a convenient base for climbing 'Kozi', Australia's highest mountain.
