Sorry if this question has been asked before...

I’m planning to apply for a Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) very soon, I have just enough to support myself in Australia but I’m wondering if I will be asked to provide proof when I am applying.

I applied for a holiday visa last year and I was denied because I did not show enough proof of “saving” as I had just combined my bank accounts and transferred money from PayPal (I sell on eBay) and they said everything was transferred as a “lump…

This is my first time in Australia and I will be coming in July. I enjoy the great outdoors and some must dos is to swim/dive with manta and see whale sharks. I am a diver and my husband snorkels. I will be coming for 14 days with my husband. I am looking for input on which part of Queensland to go to and if Great Ocean Road would be worth it since I only have two weeks there. It's also always been on my bucket list to drive some part of the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast brieftly. (I come from…

Is it true?

Somebody told me that in the 1980's - during South Africa's Apartheid Era - a local government authority in an Australian city tried to change the name of the street where a South African consulate (or the embassy?) was located. The story I heard was that they wanted to change the name to Nelson Mandela Street or Steve Biko Street or something like that. But they were eventually dissuaded by federal authorities who didn't want any trouble with the South Africans.

That's as much of the story as…

We are a family of three. My daughter will be three in 2019. I visit Australia quite often, say every five or so years, with family in Melbourne and my MO to date has been to spend a week or two with them before jetting off somewhere else. Next on my to do list for explorations after the Melbourne hellos will be South Australia.

We will be looking to fly in to Adelaide mid-April 2019 and to leave three weeks later - so our time shall include the Easter Weekend.

Suggested itineraries…

My wife grew up in Korea, and does not like to swim. However, I need to experience some of the amazing snorkeling. Maybe not the actual Great Barrier Reef, but as close as I can get. It's our 10 year wedding anniversery, so we're flying from Korea during July to Sydney, Australia (2 weeks stay).

We can afford to fly... for example, to Cairnes. We're also planning on not renting a car and using public transportation, exclusively. Is Cairnes the destination for us? We would probably stay for 10…

Hello -- what's the best place for buying a used mountain bike in Sydney? Is it gumtree? I'm used to Craigslist, but it does not really seem to be a thing there.

Bonus question: are there any shops selling decent used gear who will promise to buy stuff back after you use it?

Hello fellow travellers,

I am writing to seek some tips/recommendations on my upcoming trip.

Who is traveling: myself, wife with our 6 month old baby
When: last week of May (flying in Goldcoast) - duration: 10 days (flying out of Sydney)

So far I have only booked the flights and rental car. I have done some research on doing a road trip with 6 month old and seems like its not unheard of. We would definitely like to keep it super relaxed and non hectic - no more than ~4 hrs drive everyday.

I…
