Worth a Trip: Conargo & Jerilderie

Some 92km east of Deniliquin and on the Newell Hwy, Jerilderie was immortalised by the bushranger Ned Kelly, who held up the whole town for three days in 1879. Kelly relics can be seen at the Willows Museum & Ned Kelly Post Office. On your way, be sure to stop at the marvellous Conargo Pub, 32km from Deni. It has a bar dotted with memorabilia and photos of local sheep-farming history, and out the back is a restored shearing shed that serves as a loo!
