The Darwin Day Tripper is the perfect one day visit to Kakadu from Darwin. Schedule08:30am Make your own way to the Kakadu Air Terminal #2 Slade Court Eaton, (Darwin Airport). Once you arrive you will be greeted by a friends Kakadu Air staff member to check you in for your flight. There is a long term car park available located around the corner from us next to the Australian Federal Police (unfortunately no customer car park located at the terminal). 09:00am After a short safety briefing you will depart Darwin on your first Scenic Flight.This flight is the extended flight tracking over Adelaide River, Mary River, Kakadu's West, South & East Alligator Rivers. All rivers wind a confused path across the flatlands. View coastal mangroves that hold back massive floodplains in the wet and some that remain dry resulting in variations of vegetation and a kaleidoscope of colour. The Arnhem Land Plateau stands proud on the Eastern side of Kakadu, its 1.6 billion year age illustrated by the amazing erosion; its simply stunning. Other major views include Minkinj Valley, the Archway, The Ranger Uranium Mine and Lighting Dreaming. *The wet season path includes the incredible Jim Jim and Twin falls.11:00am Land at Cooinda and you your pilot will drop you off to visit the Warradjun Aboriginal Visitor Centre. This centre has been developed by the traditional owners of Kakadu and uses artifacts, videos and images to guide you through history and culture of the area.12:00—13:00pm Lunch time. Please note that lunch is not included in the tour but there is a restaurant and cafe where you can purchase your own. 1:15pm Your pilot will drop you off at the "must-do" Yellow Water River Cruise. Make sure you keep an eye out for crocs on this guided tour!2:45pm Transportation from the cruise back to your plane, its home time. But not before we take you on one more scenic flight. This shorter return flight first discovers the upper South Alligator River and flood plains before tracking towards Darwin. Be welcomed back to Darwin with views of a growing number of 5 acre rural residential blocks, the sprawling cities of Palmerston and Darwin City.15:30—16:00pm You land back at Darwin Airport and are escorted back the the Kakadu Air terminal. ** Schedule and timings may vary due to unforeseeable delays. E.G weather. Kakadu enjoys two major climatic seasons, the "Wet" and the "Dry" season. Commencement and termination of Wet & Dry seasons by month for our flights are determined by the weather.
