The northern tip of Aruba is wild. Wind and waves pound the landscape, which consists of endless sand dunes, enormous boulders and little else. A network of trails crisscrosses the area, eventually arriving at the sea. This is a romantic sunset spot – but don't linger, as darkness comes quickly. Water and sunblock are essential during the day.
Like the lighthouse, the dunes are named for a shipwreck that lies offshore. Driving on the dunes is prohibited, so leave your car in one of the parking areas that are visible from the lighthouse road.
