World's Best Restaurant leaves Spain for 5 week tour
Tourists hoping to get on the standby list are out of luck: El Celler de Can Roca, the Catalan restaurant that was crowned the World’s Best Restaurant for the second time this year, has closed its doors in Girona for five weeks to embark on an international tour.
The restaurant’s first stop was Buenos Aires in Argentina, where 100 people a night got the chance to sample a unique 10-course meal over five nights, showcasing the Spanish chefs’ take on Argentinian classics using exclusively Argentinian produce. The restaurant will now head to the US where it will visit Miami, Birmingham, Alabama and Houston with a final stop in Istanbul, Turkey before reopening in Girona. Read more: elpais.com
