Work from anywhere in the world with this new app
A new app has launched that helps travelers locate the best work-friendly spaces in different destinations all over the world, making it easier than ever to get things done while out on the road.
Scouted by more than 250,000 people in over 1250 cities around the world, the Workfrom app maps the most suitable coffee shops, cafes, bars and Wi-Fi locations for anyone to turn into a mobile office. Users can prioritise their search fields to find spaces unique to their needs, listing factors like natural light levels, dog friendly environments, late openings and noise levels. The app is also socially focused, allowing users to organise meetups and participate in chats with other community members. With remote working taking over many industries as a top trend, the app aims to make the process easier than ever for self-employed people, college students, or business travelers.
“As a long time remote worker, I understood the landscape well. A big challenge I faced almost daily over the years was the time and effort it took to find the best workspaces outside of my home while on the go. I found myself constantly on the hunt for amenities I needed like reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable seating choices and access to power outlets. Another feature was background noise levels that would spark creativity or allow for a call with a teammate or client. There was no trusted source of this information. I was forced to create a list of my own—adding to it as I moved around,” Workfrom creator Darren Buckner told Lonely Planet News.
The Workfrom website and app also features a community magazine with industry tips and discussions for freelancers, digital nomads and people interested in working outside of the traditional office. So far it boasts 30,000 users worldwide and over 5000 sourced workspaces.
More information on the mobile app and community is available at the Workfrom website.
