Winter smog continues to affect Delhi transport links

Winter smog continues to affect transport across the northern plains of India, with Delhi particularly badly affected. On Monday, 33 flights and 169 trains were delayed by the foggy conditions, following a similar pattern of disruption on Sunday. Northern India has a long history of fog in winter, but the problem is exacerbated by the city’s severe atmospheric pollution, which has been recorded at seven times the World Health Organisation safe limit.
