Gingerbread model of White House unveiled in DC

Lonely Planet WriterThe White House in Washington, DC is known for its sumptuous holiday decorations, and this year’s offerings do not disappoint. It features a 500lb gingerbread model of the White House, covered for the first time in dark chocolate and larger-than-life models of First Dogs Bo and Sunny, created from 55,000 feet of yarn.

There are 62 fir trees in the residence, displaying more than 70,000 ornaments and the entire house is covered in festive decorations. The White House estimates approximately 68,000 people will visit this holiday season. Read more at: huffingtonpost.com
