Western Norway overwhelmed by severe flooding

Severe flooding which began on Tuesday has left residents of villages and towns in western Norway stranded or homeless. More than 22 people had to be rescued by helicopter in the village of Flåm in Sogn og Fjordane on Wednesday morning alone, and nearby Voss and Odda have also been severely affected. Roads have been closed and public transport routes cut off by the floods, which have also caused mudslides. Read more: thelocal.no
