Old tourist boats to be banned in Vietnam after accidents

Following a series of waterway accidents, including a fire on a Ho Chi Minh City hydrofoil in January this year, new laws will be introduced in Vietnam to ban the use of aging boats. Under the new laws, tourism boats with restaurants or accommodation facilities must be under 35 years old, while high-speed passenger boats used in inland waterways must be no older than 20 years.
