Details of a British national exhibition centre for videogames have been announced. The £2.5 million National Videogame Arcade opens in March 2015, and will feature exhibitions of old consoles, galleries with interactive exhibits and a games-making education area, arranged over five floors. The Nottingham museum will hold prototype controllers from Rock Band, the original Star Wars cockpit cabinet and the Magnavox Odyssey – which dates from 1972 and was the first ever home console. Organisers said they want the centre to be the equivalent of the National Theatre or National Gallery for gaming. Read more:
