Victoria Falls to remain natural and untouched, says tourism minister

Zimbabwe’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Walter Mzembi, has said that Victoria Falls and its immediate surrounds will remain natural and untouched, despite efforts to improve tourism infrastructure. In November fears were raised when the chief executive of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority said the famous falls themselves should be made much more commercialised, be floodlit 24 hours a day and resemble Niagara Falls. Instead, the tourism minister wants to focus the infrastructure improvements around the airport. Read more:
