US Forest Service increases fee to glacier

The US Forest Service says it must increase access fees to Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in order to pay for needed upgrades and improve amenities. One of the world’s most accessible glaciers, the Mendenhall Glacier is a popular attraction for tourists arriving on cruise ships and visiting nearby Juneau. Ticket prices to the visitor center will go from $3 to $5. The Forest Service says it will also increase fees to other parts of the area. Read more: adn.com
