Universal Orlando has a haunted house that combines virtual reality with live action scares
A haunted house at Universal Orlando has introduced a brand new entertainment experience that combines immersive theatre and virtual reality elements to create a unique and spooky experience for visitors.
Running for a limited time as part of the Halloween Horror Nights attraction, The Repository is an extra experience that is available to be added on to the current roster at the attraction. It blends physical environments, real-life actors and cutting-edge virtual reality elements, with Universal Orlando having worked with VRstudios to design a first of its kind platform that is showcased inside a scary warehouse environment full of a host of surprises.
The attraction features a mystery style room escape set amongst an atmospheric environment that visitors make their way through collecting clues. They are encouraged to interact with the props as actors pop up to add an extra layer of suspense to the proceedings.
An ever popular tourist destination, Universal Orlando Resort has opened more than 20 new attractions in the past few years including unique dining experiences, themed hotels and adventure rides while a new water theme park is due to open in 2017 called Universal’s Volcano Bay.
The Repository is due to run until 31 October with more information on the attraction available on the Universal Orlando website.
