UK’s FCO relaxes travel advice to Iran

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has lifted its travel warning against almost all of Iran, just a few weeks after the historic nuclear deal was announced.

The FCO now only advises against travel to border regions with Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, but considers the rest of the country safe to travel in. The advice does note that British nationals still “face greater risk” than citizens of other countries. The UK plans to reopen an embassy in Tehran by the end of this year.
