Eat home-cooked food in a local's kitchen: new app for Hungary
A new Hungarian app for foodies, called Yummber, is being launched at the end of July. It enables users to find home-cooked food and eat it in a local’s own kitchen.
There is no pre-registration and the food is not cooked in advance – instead, a map shows active hosts located close to the user, and photos display the food with their cost. Once the user selects a dish, the host can accept a guest or not, depending on what and how much they are cooking. Both the host’s food and the guest get ratings and transactions are through bank cards. The app is being launched with 150 kitchens and most of them are in central Budapest, which is also a good option for tourists. More than 700 applicants underwent a strong casting process.
