Turkish Airlines plane diverted after fake bomb threat

A flight from Istanbul to São Paulo yesterday was forced to make an emergency landing in Casablanca, Morocco, due to a bomb threat that was later found to be untrue. The plane was diverted after a note with the word ‘bomb’ on it was found on the floor of the plane’s toilet. Turkish Airlines chose to reroute the plane with 256 passengers aboard so that it could investigate the threat and, now in the clear, the flight is due to continue on to its original destination as planned.
