Tourists killed in Dominican Republic plane crash

Seven people, including several Spanish tourists, have died as their plane plummeted to the ground shortly after take-off from the Dominican Republic resort of Punta Cana. Reports suggest the crash could have been caused by a mechanical problem. The pilot tried to make an emergency landing in a nearby golf course before crashing. Punta Cana is the Dominican Republic’s largest resort area, and the plane was en route to Arroyo Barril Airport, near the whale-watching hub of Samaná. Read more:
