Tourism hopes for Khmer Rouge sites in Cambodia
The Cambodian government plans to develop tourism in the area of Anlong Veng, northwestern Cambodia, former stronghold of the Khmer Rouge.
The region is home to a number of sites associated with the Khmer Rouge leadership, including the remains of houses belonging to Pol Pot and Ta Mok, and Pol Pot’s cremation site. The area currently sees few visitors and has limited facilities but there are hopes to draw more people. Eighty guides are set to undergo training next year. Read more: phnompenhpost.com
