Tokyo noodle bar awarded star in Michelin first
A ramen noodle restaurant in Tokyo has been awarded a Michelin star, becoming the first ramen bar to receive a star from the international food guide.
Tsuta, a small nine-seater counter-only restaurant in north Tokyo, offers gourmet spins on the Japanese noodle classic, with ingredients such as rosemary-flavoured barbecued pork and porcini mushrooms. A cook at the restaurant remarked that the customers were most important, and getting a Michelin star was not a priority.
