Ticket sales decline as ‘Bali boycott’ campaign gains momentum

A campaign by Australians on social media calling on their countrymen to stop spending tourist dollars in Bali has reportedly prompted a decline in air ticket sales to the popular holiday island. Launched in response to Indonesia’s refusal to grant clemency for two Australians on death row, the #BoycottBali hashtag has ignited a bitter social media spat between the two nations, with some Indonesian users arguing Bali would be ‘better off’ without ‘drunken shirtless bogans on the streets of Kuta and Legian.’ Read more: 9news.com.au
