This week's top 5 videos from around the world
From the NYPD getting involved in some snowy shenanigans, to jaw-droppingly tall waves off the Chilean coast, here are our top videos of the week.
As large swathes of the US enjoyed (or suffered through) blizzards and epic snowfall this week, there was one person who was truly happy about it. Tian Tian, the giant panda from the Smithsonian Zoo in Washington DC woke up to several feet of snow last weekend and was over the moon. A video of the panda playing in the snow went viral this week, and how couldn't it! He essentially doing back-flips in the snow!
On the other side of the US some other animals came out to play overjoyed by the amount of white stuff everywhere. Footage captured two young otters playing in the snow on the Grandfather Mountain Nature Reserve in North Carolina, rather cheekily seeming to play with a forgotten tennis ball.
Several pieces of footage captured dramatic scenes across Chile yesterday, when 5 metre tall waves began to hit the coast, putting on-lookers in danger, and over-turning a patrolling policeman car. The waves crashed with a remarkable force believed to be a result of El Nino's influence on water currrents.
Awesome footage of an enormous slip'n'slide in Queensland, Australia is every neighbourhood kids fanstasy project. The giant slide covers a bumpy course, ending up in its own paddle pool. But the ride is so excessively bumpy in parts its been christened 'slip, bleed, and bruise'. It looks so much fun though, that it might be worth all the pain!
Famed videographer, New Yorker, and passionate skater, Casey Neistat took advantage of the snow to make a video of himself snowboarding the streets of New York City this week. In typical daredevil fashion Neistat had himself jet-skiied around the streets. Not only that, but it's the actual NYPD that are driving him around! Needless to say, the results are fairly slick looking.
